About Us

The Cleveland Museum of Engineering & Technology (Cleveland MET) is an emerging museum dedicated to preserving the machines, infrastructure, and innovations that shaped Cleveland, Northeast Ohio, and the Great Lakes region.

Although we are in the early stages of building our collection, our mission is already clear: to rescue, restore, and preserve historically significant engineering and technological artifacts that might otherwise be lost to demolition or scrap. From bridge control systems and railroad infrastructure to warning sirens, industrial machinery, electrical equipment, and other engineering landmarks, each artifact tells the story of the people, ingenuity, and craftsmanship that built our communities.

At Cleveland MET, we believe history should do more than sit behind glass. Our goal is to restore artifacts whenever possible, document their history, explain how they worked, and share their stories through educational exhibits, restoration projects, digital media, and future public displays.

As our museum grows, we hope to become a trusted partner for municipalities, contractors, transportation agencies, businesses, and private individuals seeking to preserve pieces of engineering history for future generations.

This is only the beginning. Every artifact saved today is one more chapter of our region's engineering heritage that will not be lost tomorrow.
